The 9th Annual IFDC (International Fashion Doll Convention) is almost upon us.... happening on July 6 - 9, 2011 at The Orleans Resort and Casino, Las Vegas - as always, the event promises to be an exciting & loads of FUN event! DOLLYSTYLE Convention Coverage in Taiwan

Over the weekend, I spent quite some time at the local bookstore in Taipei, Eslite Books, with a wide selection of books and magazines - not just locally but also internationally... and of course, much of my time was spent in the TOY & Hobby section perusing through the various Dolls & Toy Magazines...

While perusing Toy Garage #14 - I was delighted to see a 2 page coverage of the recent Dolly Style Convention in Japan... it was thrilling for me as I was not able to attend the convention... even more thrilling as in the photos I was able to see friends in the convention snapshots... was great to see Denise Travers and her SALES ROOM, Freddy Tan & his lovely creations, Franklin Lim Liao disguised as Misaki, and Integrity's President Percy Newsum....

So it matters not, that I could not read the Chinese write up, seeing the photos was wonderful enough - like almost being there... like seeing friends again.... TRULY, A NICE SURPRISE!

DG POP Susie @ the JASON WU Event

Those of you attending this year's Jason Wu Event - happening from the 1st thru the 3rd this month, be sure to stop by MANIKA's ROOM SALES as they will have a few Dynamite Girls: Electro POP Susie dolls (plus a whole lot more...) available for purchase.

This year's Fashion Royalty Convention's theme is "ICONIC" and is held at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center in Chicagoland (1551 North Thoreau Drive, Schaumburg, Illinois).

Metro Comic Convention - Manila, Philippines

This past August, MEGA MALL in Manila, Philippines staged another FUN and WELL ATTENDED, Metro Comic Convention/Exhibition... Though I missed it (AGAIN!) I was completely blown away by how well the doll community is represented in this convention... From what am told, there really is a BIG DOLL COMMUNITY in Manila and their collecting choices ran the gamut: Blythe, Tonners & Gene Dolls, Pullips, Momokos,FRs, and even our very own Susie, Mensajero & Angel Dolls!!!

IFDC Memories

Most of you know that IFDC has a SPECIAL PLACE in our hearts - for many reasons: not just because Jim Faraone, the one who year after year, manages to make the convention even more fun, exciting, and a treat to all attendees...; not just because it is a GREAT EXCUSE to see dolly friends from different parts of the dolly world, and get to meet a few new ones; not just because at IFDC, one gets to see & enjoy a wide array of dolly offerings from talents all over the world; ..but it is also mainly because , IFDC, is the BIRTHPLACE of Susie -- the place where she made her first entrance way back at the very first IFDC, back in 2003.That was actually quite a TRIP, looking back - somehow, we manage to make a show with nothing but a few prototype sample heads and a couple of bodies, and a biiig support push from some of the BEST and SWEETEST people in the dolly world, whom am very PROUD to call our FRIENDS.

Now, we did not send a lot, as we do not want to trouble Larraine and Jill a lot
