NEW BRATZ DOLLS???

I could not escape the magazine and billboard ads that were all over Metro Manila, with these local stars endorsing Bench FIX - a Hair styling salon and hair products that is quite popular. Love what this new campaign called HEADS UP... they look like BRATZ.... and sure made me wish they could turn them into dolls - i surely will collect them all... NOTE: I do not know much about the local celebrities in Manila but I sure know the ones used by BENCH to endorsed their products... could not help but know them as their faces are plastered everywhere - TV, MAGS, BILLBOARDS, MALLS, etc....

Couture Doll Design Challenge

My very good friend & multi tasker, Larraine Elcock, otherwise known to most of us online as barbiegirl is bringing us another EXCITING Program to enjoy and follow: Couture Doll Design ChallengeFor the first edition, there will be a total of 8 challenges and there are a little over 30 designers participating. The first challenge, Make Mine Mod, is already underway with the entries due on the 20th of this month and entries will be photograph and posted soon afterwards... this promises to be a real FAR OUT & GROOVY one - with the guest judge being, another great friend and Integrity Designer, David Buttry...

Great Shots Niel!!!Such a treat to meet you and the GANG, Niel... and I TRULY LOVE your Cory Aquino doll -- Philippine's Beloved Ex-President who recently passed away... doll collecting, pinoy style

A little get together to basically meet some of Manila's dolly collectors.... What an eye opener for me.... not only did I not know that doll collecting is TRULY alive and well in Manila, but that everyone's collecting habits runs the gamut.... with just a handful of people who can make the IMPROMPTU get-together, the condo was none-the-less overflowing with dolls... all sorts of dolls: momoko, blythe, frs,dgs, tonners, genes, butterfly rings, barbies, susies, etc....
It was TRULY a very nice surprise!!!

Dolly Weddings!!!

Got this video from my friend Richard, who is one of the main organizers for the GoGa Doll Club & Conventions... at their most recent convention held in the Bay Area, a few BJDs tied- the-knot, in a really GRAND & HILARIOUS way... the ceremony was officiated by another good friend, Daniel, and it is a truly fun video to watch... Makes me really wish I could attend one of their conventions (I believe this is their 3rd one already!).... besides it would be GREAT to see so many Bay Area Doll Friends....

Just saw this TRULY CUTE set from MATTEL as part of the early 2010 introductions.... though I do not collect much Barbies anymore (am down to NOSTALGIC REPROS, DESIGNERS and SILKSTONES nowadays!), I have to ADMIT I still fall for the Little Kelly line, now and again...
